Get Excel V+ Laser Treatment

The Excel V+ is a medical-grade laser system designed to treat redness, veins, and pigmentation with precision.

What Does Excel V+ Treat?

Excel V+ is not a "one-size-fits-all" laser. It features two distinct wavelengths and advanced cooling technology to target specific skin concerns with high precision.

It can be an excellent choice to treat:

Vascular Concerns (The Reds)

  • Rosacea, facial redness, and facial flushing
  • Broken capillaries (Telangiectasia)
  • Spider veins on the face and legs
  • Cherry angiomas (red moles) and benign vascular lesions
  • Periorbital veins (blue veins around the eyes)

Pigmentation Concerns (The Browns)

  • Sun spots, age spots, and brown discoloration
  • Uneven skin tone and freckles
  • Benign pigmented lesions

Skin Rejuvenation

  • Laser Genesis is a skin rejuvenation mode that stimulates collagen to help improve fine lines, enlarged pores, and dull texture

How Excel V+ Works

Precise laser energy

The Excel V+ is designed to target the source of the skin concern without harming the surrounding healthy skin. It works by delivering precise laser energy to specific targets (chromophores) in your tissue: hemoglobin for vascular concerns and melanin for pigmented lesions.

This energy is absorbed by the target and converted to heat, which works to break down the vessel or pigment cells so your body can naturally eliminate them.

Collagen stimulation

For skin texture and redness, we utilize the Laser Genesis mode. This uses a non-ablative, sub-threshold approach to gently warm the dermis. This "bulk heating" stimulates collagen remodeling and can be used to treat background redness and the appearance of skin smoothness over time.

What to expect during treatment

We prioritize your comfort throughout the procedure. Most treatments are quick, taking just 15–30 minutes depending on the area being treated.

While you may feel a brief warmth or a "snapping" sensation as the laser targets the skin, the device features advanced CoolView™ technology. This built-in cooling system protects the skin surface and helps the treatment to remain well-tolerated.

If you are undergoing Laser Genesis, the sensation is even milder—often described by patients as a gentle, relaxing warmth moving across the skin.

Good to know

Results appear over time. Excel V+ works with your body's natural healing cycle, with the most significant results developing over several weeks.

A series of treatments is often best. While one treatment helps, most patients choose a series of 3-5 treatments for their desired outcome.

Sunscreen is your shield. Daily use of a broad-spectrum sunscreen is critical to protect your new skin and your investment.

It's a medical procedure. Like any medical procedure, Excel V+ has risks, which Dr. Goddard will discuss with you in full during your consultation.

Common Questions

Does Excel V+ hurt?

You may feel a brief warmth or "snapping" sensation as the laser targets the skin. The CoolView™ technology is designed to help the treatment be well tolerated by most people.

How much does Excel V+ treatment cost?

The cost depends on the areas being treated. We will provide a precise quote during your personal Cosmetic Consultation.

What is the downtime and recovery really like?

One of the key benefits of Excel V+ is that downtime is typically minimal, allowing most patients to return to normal activities the same day.

Immediately after treatment, you may notice some temporary redness or mild swelling—similar to a sunburn—which usually resolves quickly. If we are treating brown spots, you may see the spots darken briefly before they flake off or fade; this is a normal part of the clearing process. Makeup can usually be applied the following day unless Dr. Goddard directs otherwise.

How many treatments will I need?

This will depend on your goals and individual treatment plan. We tailor everything to you.

  • Vascular and pigmented lesions often require a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart
  • Laser Genesis is typically performed as a series for best results, with maintenance treatments as needed

We’ll go over your treatment plan in detail during your Cosmetic Consultation.

Am I a good candidate?

Excel V+ is appropriate for many skin types and concerns. However, a consultation is required to determine candidacy, especially for patients with recent sun exposure, darker skin tones, or a history of pigmentation issues.

Patients should avoid tanning and self-tanners prior to treatment and follow all pre- and post-treatment instructions provided by Dr. Goddard. We want you to get the best possible results from your treatment.

When is the best time of year for Excel V+?

Because avoiding sun exposure after treatment is crucial, most patients choose to get Excel V+ during the fall and winter.

Why don’t you guarantee a specific result?

That’s part of our commitment to honesty and transparency. Excel V+ laser treatments and results are highly personalized, and no two people are exactly the same. That’s why the initial Cosmetic Consultation is so important. We discuss your aesthetic goals, evaluate the spots you’d like treated, and then design a personalized treatment plan if you’re a good candidate for it.
